The Environment, Energy and Investment (EEI) Unit conducts interdisciplinary research on the governance of sustainability transitions, understood as socio-technical processes with profound implications for social organisation driven by global environmental change. Some of its key outputs so far include a co-operation agreement between the University of Cambridge (Department of Land Economy) and Luiss, which has provided a framework for academic exchanges and joint research projects, including a recently awarded Horizon Europe EUR 6,962,000 million project on Strategies for the Evaluation and Assessment of Ocean based Carbon Dioxide Removal (SEAO2-CDR).

Cultural heritage is attracting increasing interest both academically and in policy making. Cultural heritage sectors represent a growing part of the economy, generating much income and employment directly and indirectly, notably through cultural tourism. This is particularly true in countries such as Italy.
