Italy is progressively strengthening its presence in the Indo-Pacific region, which is increasingly recognized as a strategic area for global balance and central to Italian foreign policy. This collection analyzes Italy’s role in promoting cultural and scientific cooperation in the region, in line with the EU Strategy for the Indo-Pacific. Through a network of Italian Cultural Institutes, bilateral agreements with key countries (such as India, Japan, and Vietnam), and participation in multilateral initiatives (including ASEAN, IORA, and PIF), Italy uses cultural and scientific diplomacy as fundamental tools of external projection. The work highlights the main activities, strategic priorities, and instruments adopted to strengthen relations with the region, with particular attention to culture, higher education, research, and sustainable development. In a transforming international context, Italy emerges as an actor committed to promoting shared values, intercultural dialogue, and concrete cooperation beyond the traditional boundaries of its foreign policy.

Manuale di politica estera italiana
The volume aims to provide a systematic overview of the main aspects of Italian foreign policy and serves as a foundational text for political science studies and, more broadly, for public debate on the subject. In this sense, the manual is not only an analytical tool that compiles the knowledge accumulated over the years within international studies, but also represents part of an academic response to the renewed interest in Italian foreign policy—particularly at a time of international transition that increasingly demands a thorough understanding of Italy’s role in Europe and the world. The text delves into the various perspectives from which foreign policy is approached, with particular attention to policy formulation and the decision-making process conceived as a public policy issue. It is intended for students, researchers, scholars, and journalists seeking to better understand the broader debate surrounding international relations and Italy’s role within it.
